LAPA completes Netflix Grow Africa capacity building programme

The Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts has completed the Netflix Grow Africa capacity building programme, funded through the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity.

The programme trained screen actors and experienced screenwriters with the aim of deepening the local talent pool and supporting Nigerian stories on a global stage. Training commenced in July 2023 and participants worked with industry professionals throughout, with the programme culminating in a local production.

The audition panel comprised Joke Silva, Femi Odugbemi, Ronya Man and Omonor Somolu. Ronya Man Performing Arts and Accelerate TV joined as technical and creative sponsors.

The programme is now closed. LAPA continues to deliver its NBTE-accredited National Innovative Diploma in Performing and Media Arts, and welcomes enquiries from institutional partners seeking to commission comparable capacity building work.
