Synopsis
A head of state dies, and the sisters of his wife come together for the first time after a long estrangement to attend the funeral. Many dark secrets surface.
The Sisters is a play about bitter truth and painful reality. It unravels the vanity and deceit that characterise the lives of the powerful, and presses on the transience of power and social status. The president's death becomes the occasion for the sisters to reckon with these realities and re-examine their own lives.
Written and directed by Dr Ahmed Yerima, then Director of the National Troupe of Nigeria.
